There is already an article on the UNCED, you might want to think about merging this one with that one (or vice versa). --Lexor 11:51, 23 Sep 2003 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing this out. Done. -- Viajero 16:47, Sep 23, 2003 (UTC)

'Critics' point out?[edit]

Can we have a source for this? As it stands this is definitely POV

conflict with United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change page[edit]

Page Earth_Summit says: "Both Convention on Biological Diversity and Framework Convention on Climate Change were set as legally binding agreements."

Page United_Nations_Framework_Convention_on_Climate_Change says: "The treaty as originally framed set no mandatory limits on greenhouse gas emissions for individual nations and contained no enforcement provisions; it is therefore considered legally non-binding"

Not sure which is right. 03:56, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Hunt is critical[edit]

Hunt is an environmentalist who attended several of the congress meetings.

This video supposedly includes excepts of the congress meetings as well as philosophical position discussions.

  • Can any of this criticism be included in this wiki article?

A quotation from the NY Times International Edition was mentioned / displayed in this clip.

BFI, the garbage collection company, is mentioned at a point about 22 minutes into the clip. Initially this comment was added for a Wilderness Conference article Oldspammer (talk) 04:35, 17 May 2010 (UTC) but I have copy pasted it here now. Oldspammer (talk) 20:05, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Earth Summit or Earth Summits?[edit]

I understood that the Earth Summits were recurring events that started in 1972 2.1 1972 Stockholm 2.2 1982 Nairobi 2.3 1992 Rio de Janeiro 2.4 2002 Johannesburg 2.5 2012 "Rio+20" place is still to be determined

The french language wikipedia is much detailed on this:

Shall we start translating and copy/pasting that?SvenAERTS (talk) 14:26, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Resource in The Guardian currently[edit] (talk) 23:24, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

Maybe United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio 2012) would be a better location. (talk) 06:14, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

What is to be done with this?[edit]

It is related, but not central to a simple article. (talk) 19:22, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Sources modified on Earth Summit[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just attempted to maintain the sources on Earth Summit. I managed to add archive links to 2 sources, out of the total 2 I modified, whiling tagging 0 as dead.

Please take a moment to review my changes to verify that the change is accurate and correct. If it isn't, please modify it accordingly and if necessary tag that source with {{cbignore}} to keep Cyberbot from modifying it any further. Alternatively, you can also add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page's sources altogether. Let other users know that you have reviewed my edit by leaving a comment on this post.

Below, I have included a list of modifications I've made:

Source information added from main page[edit]

Hello guys,

I have recently added a paragraph regarding the creation of Earth Summit into the wiki page, source information coming from their main page. Any edits and critism is greatly appreciated, as this is my first contribution to wikipedia. Castature (talk) 07:02, 10 March 2018 (UTC)
